Pediatric Virtual Reality

Martin, 16, is a typical teenager who loves to play video games for fun. But he also plays for another reason - distraction. Martin suffers from occasional pain that is the result of sickle cell disease.

Mild or severe pain can happen anywhere in the body and can come on suddenly. The pain can last for a few hours, a few days, or sometimes longer.

Virtua is using the latest in technology in virtual reality to help patients like Martin in pain management. In the following video, learn about distraction-based virtual reality therapy, a new dimension in medicine that taps technology and the mind’s curiosity.
