Virtua Health has again received recognition for its exceptional digital presence. South Jersey’s largest health system has received the “800 Award” for 73 of its online listings, which include select hospitals, medical practices, and physicians.

Reputation, the California-based firm that issues the awards, states that winners represent “the gold standard for what it means to be consumer-centric.” 800 Award winners “consistently collect, understand, and apply any and all feedback so that they can make data-driven decisions to ensure that customers will have the best experience possible.”

“Selecting a health care service is an act of trust,” said Chrisie Scott, senior vice president and chief marketing officer for Virtua Health. “Our goal is to create an outstanding experience for everybody, always – and the first step for many begins with an online search. We strive to curate listings that are easy to find, contain relevant information, and feature consumer reviews. This empowers informed decision-making.”

Jean Davidson, DO, lead physician with Virtua Endocrinology, is one of six Virtua physicians who received an 800 Award this year.

“I take my digital footprint seriously, particularly online reviews,” said Dr. Davidson. "The feedback that my current patients leave on Google and other sites helps introduce me to future, potential patients. It’s like the new word-of-mouth.”

Criteria for Recognition
The 800 Awards are based on Reputation’s proprietary algorithm to evaluate online listings on a 1,000-point scale. A listing with a reputation score of 700 or more is considered high performing; therefore, listings that achieve a score of 800 or higher represent the best of the best. Reputation assesses several industries beyond health care – including restaurants, real estate, banking, and hospitality – and winners are selected across the U.S. and European Union.

Reputation uses three factors to determine the score: visibility, engagement, and sentiment. These categories include such measures as number of people who view listings, number of reviews, and consumer ratings and experiences expressed in reviews.

As Reputation surmised, “Any winner on our 2024 list has proven that they put customer experience at the very core of their strategy and are driven by the voice of the customer to succeed.”

Virtua Health’s Results
Virtua achieved 73 listings with scores of 800 or more in the 2024 Reputation rankings. Virtua Willingboro Hospital received the prestigious award, as did 13 Virtua Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation centers and 17 laboratories.

Virtua’s Pride Primary Care was one of seven primary care practices to achieve a score over 800. Pride Primary Care—dedicated to the health needs of LGBTQ+ people and allies— opened in 2022 and has quickly developed a loyal patient base by addressing the need for dedicated LGBTQ+ health services in the region.

“Since establishing Virtua Pride Primary Care, we have treated patients from across South Jersey and even Pennsylvania and Delaware,” said Dr. Shanin Gross, lead physician for the practice. “I am grateful to our patients for sharing their experiences online to help guide others who are seeking much-needed LGBTQ+ health services.”

This is Virtua’s third consecutive year with winning listings. Read more about the 800 Awards and see the full list of recipients here.
