Pediatric Behavioral Health - CASTLE

Building Better Children's Mental Health

If your child has a mild to severe emotional and behavioral problem, we understand that each day can be a struggle. Virtua's Children Achieving Success through Therapeutic Life Experiences (CASTLE) program provides high quality diagnoses and treatments for children with behavior and mental health issues in South Jersey. Whether your child has been diagnosed with attention deficit disorder, an anxiety or mood disorder, or other emotional problems, the experienced staff of CASTLE can help.

Levels of Care
We are committed to helping children understand and cope with the challenges in their lives. We offer a multidisciplinary approach, offering individual, family, group, and medication therapy, as well as psychiatric evaluation.

We offer four unique programs:

Partial Hospitalization Program
Children and adolescents attend this short–term program during typical school hours and receive intensive therapeutic services, as well as academic instruction, in a nurturing and supportive atmosphere.

Therapeutic Nursery
Our nursery provides intensive therapeutic services and educational enrichment to meet the developmental needs of young children.

Intensive Outpatient Program/After-School Program
Children attend this half-day, short-term program and receive comprehensive mental health services. Children typically attend this program after their regular school day.

Outpatient Program
Children and adolescents who attend this long-term program meet with a clinician approximately once a week for individual and/or family therapy to help identify and work on issues related to home, school, and social situations. Additional services include group therapy, medication management, and psychiatric evaluations by a psychiatrist or advanced practice nurse.

You and your child can access CASTLE services at the Virtua Health & Wellness Centers in Berlin and Camden. CASTLE accepts Medicaid and private insurance. Door-to-door transportation is offered to eligible participants, and meals and snacks are provided each day.
