Sports Medicine For Kids

Sports medicine for kids

Performance, Injury Prevention & Healing

Because your child is still growing, his or her sports medicine needs are different from adults. Virtua’s multi-disciplinary Sports Medicine Team is experienced in helping athletes return to the field.

Our highly experienced team includes orthopedic surgeons, physical therapists, certified fitness specialists and registered dietitians.

If your child has had a concussion, we provide award-winning, comprehensive concussion management by a certified ImPACT consultant and board-certified neurologist.

A post-injury consultation is done within 48 hours, and we work with you and your child to provide physical therapy so he or she can return to play as safely and as quickly as possible. Our sports medicine specialists use state-of-the-art equipment in multiple locations throughout South Jersey.

In addition to treating sports-related injuries, our team also teaches athletes, coaches and parents about injury prevention and recognition. Virtua also offers a sport-specific training program designed to provide a complete strength and conditioning program for athletes.

Our experts can train your child for speed, strength, and agility along with offering sports nutrition counseling. Virtua’s fitness centers are medically based, world-class facilities that include indoor tracks, 25-meter pools, aquatic therapy and certified fitness specialists on staff to share specific training advice with your child.
