Healthy Recipe: Skinny Guacamole
Stretch out the calories and fat by swapping some Greek yogurt into this classic … 35% fewer calories, 50% less fat and 5 times the protein of the original!
Ingredients:
- 1 ½ fresh avocado
- ½ cup nonfat Greek yogurt
- 1 lime
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ cup diced red onion
- 3 Tbsp chopped fresh cilantro
- 3 plum tomatoes, diced
- Garlic powder, to taste
- Cayenne pepper, to taste (optional)
Directions:
- Mash the fresh avocado in a bowl
- Add the Greek yogurt to the avocado mash
- Stir in the zest and juice of the fresh lime, salt, garlic powder and cayenne pepper
- Fold in the red onion, fresh cilantro and plum tomatoes
- For best flavor, refrigerate for 1 hour prior to serving
